Parallel ComputingParallel Computing and Scientific Simulation

Fusion research and simulation is no stranger to parallel and high performance computing.  Indeed, Europe has a dedicated supercomputer for fusion, High Performance Computer for Fusion (HPC-FF) at Jülich, Germany, which currently provides resources for European fusion modellers and will provide simulation capability for the ITER project.  Furthermore, part of the  ITER development includes a new high performance computer soon to be created at Rokkasho, Japan in the International Fusion Energy Research Center (IFERC).
